How Our “Virtual Engineering Model” Works:

The real advantage to our “Virtual Engineering” model is gained by companies that do not have access to teams of multi-disciplined (structures, electrical/avionics, systems, interiors, composites, and power plant) engineers and DERs (Designated Engineering Representatives) 24/7.

Our concept was developed by first formulating a skills matrix encompassing the various required disciplines (structures, electrical/avionics, systems, interiors, composites, and power plant) of engineering.  The matrix was then filled in with engineers based on engineering discipline, experience level, FAR knowledge (Part 23 and 25), and product knowledge.  This includes DER services.  Finally, each engineer is matched to new projects based on the engineer’s area of expertise.  Designed with redundancy, if the first level engineer cannot accept a project, there is already a second and third level in place to rapidly accept the project.

These projects are sometimes completed by one single engineer, or, when necessary, a team environment via the “Virtual Engineering” model.  Through terminal services and standardization of software systems, they are able to utilize all tools that would be available to them as if they were onsite in the same room.  They are even beginning to utilize web-cams to get real-time images of damage or modifications needed on the actual aircraft. We offer support in Design Engineering and Liaison Engineering.

Design Engineering: MOS Engineering can supplement your design team with on-site or virtual experienced contract engineers capable of handling large and complex aircraft designs.  Additionally, MOS Engineering’s internal design team offers partial or complete design engineering capabilities for aircraft repairs, modifications, and STC’s.  Our DER’s are authorized in static and damage tolerance analysis for       Part 23 and 25 aircraft and Part 27 and 29 helicopters.

Liaison Engineering: MOS Engineering provides real-time support for line and hangar aircraft.  Our DER’s are highly trained and experienced to perform advanced analysis to preclude repairs or minimize the repair scope based on certification parameters.  Liaison Engineering provides 24/7 coverage with emphasis on minimizing aircraft out-of-service time.
